The Melbourne Demons hammered the North Melbourne Kangaroos last week as they ran out 139-49 winners and I'm backing them to be too hot for the Suns.

Head to Head

The Demons have completely dominated the Suns of late, winning their last 10 matchups in a row. Gold Coast's last win came all the way back in 2014.

The Gold Coast Suns have seemed to struggled this year, with the side finding it tough to consistently win matches and build a potential finals challenge.

Heavy opening defeats to the Sydney Swans and Essendon Bombers led into a stunning 73-54 win over the Geelong Cats in game three.

But they were then subjected to comfortable defeats at the hand of the St Kilda Saints and Fremantle Dockers.

While they do come into this one on the back of wins over the North Melbourne Kangaroos and Richmond Tigers, they are still not convincing enough to make us believe they can win against a very good Melbourne side.

The Suns will be without Touk Miller still and Lachie Weller, Ben Ainsworth and Nick Holman have also been sidelined by injuries.

Melbourne Demons Form

Despite having to shoulder defeats to the Brisbane Lions and Essendon Bombers this season, the Demons have been excellent and they come into this one with five wins in their opening seven to sit in second on the ladder.

Strong performances against the Richmond Tigers and North Melbourne Kangaroos have seen the Demons arrive on a two-game winning run, and they can continue to put pressure on Collingwood at the top with another win.

If the Demons are to win this one, then they will have to improve on their questionable away form. A single win in three attempts on the road is hardly inspiring.

With the Suns failing to win any of their last 10 matches against the Demons, I am backing the away side to come out on top. However, they have not been great on the road this season, so I am backing a win by 39 points or less.
