Chicago enter the latest Crosstown Classic clash in solid form, having won six of the last eight meetings.

The Cubs began this run with a 13-4 victory in Cincinnati that ensured they were not swept in a three-game series by the Reds.

They then moved on to St Louis for a four-game series and backed up that win over the Reds by beating the Cardinals 5-4 and 6-3.

Chicago failed to make it four-in-a-row, losing the third meeting 5-4, but they did rebound immediately to win the series finale with St Louis, 6-2.

The Cubs then bounced back from a series-opening 3-0 loss to Minnesota with 7-3 and 8-2 victories over the Twins.

Chicago White Sox Form

Chicago come into the latest instalment of the Crosstown Classic having lost 22 of their previous 23 games.

The White Sox won the first leg of a doubleheader with Minnesota back on July 10, but they lost the second meeting 3-2 and that proved to be the start of a 21-game skid.

They were swept by Pittsburgh in a three-game home series, before heading out on the road to lose three straight against Kansas City and four consecutive games against Texas.

Chicago then returned home to be swept by Seattle and Kansas City, and then went back out on the road to lose three straight meetings with Minnesota and a series opener in Oakland.

The White Sox finally ended their losing run with a 5-1 win over the A’s on Tuesday, but they failed to back that up as they dropped the series finale, 3-2.

CHI Cubs @ CHI White Sox

The White Sox are quite simply the worst team in baseball, so we expect the Cubs to take this one.
