Greece had to earn their spot in the Olympics 2024 through a qualifying tournament. After beating Dominican Republic and Egypt in the group stages, they were victorious against Slovenia 96-68 in the semifinals.
The deciding victory was secured against Croatia 80-69, Giannis Antetokounmpo being man of the match with 23 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Hellas played two more friendly games after that, beating Puerto Rico 67-65 and then losing to Serbia 94-72 in Belgrade.
Canada Form
Canada played three friendly matches ahead of the Olympics 2024. They started the campaign with an 86-72 defeat against the United States.
The first victory was secured against the tournament hosts France 85-73, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dominating the floor with 23 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Canada were also victorious in their final test against Puerto Rico 103-93, Dillon Brooks topping the charts this time with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Verdict
Canada struggled against top tier opponents in recent competitions. I will back Greece to put up a good fight and win in +7.5 handicap.
