The Hornets ended the regular season on a three-game win streak that started with a 94-52 blowout of Alabama A&M.

They then went out on the road to edge past Southern, 66-65, before moving on to take down Grambling, 59-27.

Alabama State kept their good run going in the SWAC tournament as they clinched the conference crown with three more victories.

The Hornets beat Texas Southern 84-79 and Grambling 64-62 to book their place in the final, where they beat Jackson State 60-56.

Saint Francis PA Form

Saint Francis PA also go into this matchup on a solid run of form, having won each of their previous six games.

The Red Flash, like Alabama State, won the final three games on their regular season schedule, beginning with an 81-76 overtime victory at Le Moyne.

They then returned home for two more wins that needed additional time, as they beat FDU 85-80 and Chicago State 80-71 in overtime.

Saint Francis PA then beat Wagner 58-55 in their only home game of the NEC tournament, before downing Long Island University 71-68 in the semi-finals.

The Red Flash then clinched the conference crown as they beat Central Connecticut State in a low-scoring final, 46-43.
