2019 Cricket World Cup Most Sixes - Andre Russell to rip competition to shreds
West Indies’ big hitter to hammer bowlers around the ground
2019 Cricket World Cup Most Sixes Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
As the 2019 Cricket World Cup from 30 May to 14 July in England and Wales draws nearer, fans can look forward to plenty of sixes. Big hitters such as Chris Gayle, Jos Buttler and David Warner will be in action but my tip for the most sixes is West Indies’ Andre Russell at 11.00.
2019 Cricket World Cup Most Sixes Betting Odds
Jos Buttler and Chris Gayle are the bookies’ joint favourites with each paying 8.00 to score the most sixes at the 2019 Cricket World Cup. David Warner heads into the tournament off the back of a successful Indian Premier League tournament and is paying 10.00.
Andre Russell stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of form when it comes to clearing the boundary rope. The West Indies all-rounder scored an incredible 52 sixes in the IPL and can be backed at 11.00 to finish top of the pile at the Cricket World Cup.
Russell is followed by Aaron Finch at 12.00 with Glenn Maxwell, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy and Virat Kohli all paying 13.00. Quinton de Kock rounds off the top 10 bookies’ favourites and can be backed at 15.00.

Andre Russell’s 2018 Form
Andre Russell was off the radar for most of 2018 with a knee injury preventing him from getting into full swing for the West Indies. Russell scored 13 against Bangladesh in his only ODI but did fare better in T20 Internationals.
A score of 21 not out against the ICC World XI was followed by knocks of 35 not out, 17 and 47 against Bangladesh. Russell appears to be hitting top gear now with the Cricket World Cup just around the corner.
Andre Russell’s Batting Style
Russell is a big hitter who is a particularly useful asset in the T20 game. When it comes to ODIs, he is a player who tends to prioritise hitting big over scoring lots of runs.
A modest average of 28.51 for the West Indies with a highest score of 92 not out is made up for by Russell’s incredible strike rate of 130.45. The all-rounder averages over a six per match with 54 in 52 along with 91 fours.

Andre Russell’s Current Form
Russell’s 52 sixes from 14 matches in the 2019 Indian Premier League saw him finish 18 clear of anybody else in the tournament. Chris Gayle was closest with 34 from 13.
The impressive Cricket World Cup build-up didn’t end there for Russell as he scored 88 off 38 balls for St Catherine CC against St Elizabeth in the JCA Jam T20 Bashment.
Although he scored just five in a warm-up match against Australia, West Indies’ opponents need to be wary as Russell is incredibly difficult to stop once he hits his stride.
Expect fireworks from Andre Russell at the 2019 Cricket World Cup
Russell is unlikely be among the most consistent batsmen in the Cricket World Cup in terms of scoring big. There is however no parallel to him in terms of hitting big.
52 sixes from at the Indian Premier League compared to Chris Gayle’s 34, Quinton de Kock’s 25, David Warner’s 21 and Jos Buttler’s 14 show what Russell is all about. The 31-year-old is back to full fitness and has a point to prove, a dangerous combination for opposition bowlers.

Verdict
