England vs Bangladesh Cricket World Cup - England to get World Cup back on track
Al Hasan tipped for another fine performance at Sophia Gardens
England vs Bangladesh Cricket World Cup Preview, Predictions, Betting Tips & Live Stream
England can get back to winning ways in the 2019 Cricket World Cup when they face Bangladesh at Sophia Gardens on Saturday. I am tipping Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to continue his fine form and outscore teammate Tamim Iqbal at 2.20.
In terms of opening partnerships, Bangladesh have performed better than England so I am backing them to have a higher opening stand at 2.50.
England Form & Team News
After a brilliant 104 run victory to open their campaign against South Africa, the English team came crashing down to earth as Pakistan humbled them at Trent Bridge. Moeen Ali was exceptional with the ball taking 3-50 but Pakistan still managed to post a mammoth 348.
In response England looked good money to chase the score down with Joe Root (107) and Jos Buttler (103) both scoring centuries. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as England fell 14 runs short. The World Cup hosts will look to rectify this defeat against Bangladesh.
England are hot favourites at 1.12 to win and with so many batsmen in-form, I will be looking at the Bangladesh side to find value.

Bangladesh Form & Team News
Bangladesh almost pulled a rabbit out of the hat against New Zealand at The Oval after their opening match victory. They started well with a 60 run opening stand but ended up with a below par 244 total.
Shakib Al Hasan was again the standout batsman for Bangladesh scoring 64. New Zealand were cruising until Al Hasan and fellow spinner Mosaddek Hossain turned the screw taking two wickets each. New Zealand snuck home by one wicket in the end.
Bangladesh can be backed at 6.00 to beat their hosts but I feel there is value elsewhere. Shakib Al Hasan has been in superb form with the bat so I am backing him to outscore teammate Tamim Iqbal at 2.20.
Bangladesh have had opening partnerships of 45 and 60 thus far in the World Cup while England have struggled. My tip is for Bangladesh to have the better opening stand at 2.50.
England vs Bangladesh Head to Head
England have faced off against Bangladesh on 20 occasions in ODI cricket and have a healthy 16-4 head to head lead.
Perhaps the most famous game between the two came at the 2015 Cricket World Cup when Bangladesh knocked England out of the tournament.

England vs Bangladesh Match Up
England poses numerous threats with the bat but it is impossible to look past the in-form Jos Buttler as the key wicket for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will rely on Shakib Al Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain to squeeze the England batting line-up into making mistakes while their batsmen will need to show more composure than against New Zealand.

England vs Bangladesh Key Statistics
- England have had opening partnerships of 1 and 12 in their 2 World Cup matches.

Verdict
Bangladesh have put together two good opening partnerships at the World Cup while England have struggled. My tip is for them to have a higher opening partnership than England at 2.50.
Another area worth looking at is Shakib Al Hasan’s good form – I am backing him to outscore fellow Bangladeshi player Tamim Iqbal at 2.20.
