England can get back to winning ways in the 2019 Cricket World Cup when they face Bangladesh at Sophia Gardens on Saturday. I am tipping Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to continue his fine form and outscore teammate Tamim Iqbal at 2.20.

In terms of opening partnerships, Bangladesh have performed better than England so I am backing them to have a higher opening stand at 2.50.

After a brilliant 104 run victory to open their campaign against South Africa, the English team came crashing down to earth as Pakistan humbled them at Trent Bridge. Moeen Ali was exceptional with the ball taking 3-50 but Pakistan still managed to post a mammoth 348.

In response England looked good money to chase the score down with Joe Root (107) and Jos Buttler (103) both scoring centuries. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as England fell 14 runs short. The World Cup hosts will look to rectify this defeat against Bangladesh.

England are hot favourites at 1.12 to win and with so many batsmen in-form, I will be looking at the Bangladesh side to find value.

Bangladesh almost pulled a rabbit out of the hat against New Zealand at The Oval after their opening match victory. They started well with a 60 run opening stand but ended up with a below par 244 total.

Shakib Al Hasan was again the standout batsman for Bangladesh scoring 64. New Zealand were cruising until Al Hasan and fellow spinner Mosaddek Hossain turned the screw taking two wickets each. New Zealand snuck home by one wicket in the end.

Bangladesh can be backed at 6.00 to beat their hosts but I feel there is value elsewhere. Shakib Al Hasan has been in superb form with the bat so I am backing him to outscore teammate Tamim Iqbal at 2.20.

Bangladesh have had opening partnerships of 45 and 60 thus far in the World Cup while England have struggled. My tip is for Bangladesh to have the better opening stand at 2.50.
