New Zealand were always going to be tested as the World Cup progressed. The schedule favoured them with the easier matches all came up front but they have faltered badly as the tough opposition have come to town.

The bowling department has operated at a high level but the batting front has been poor. They dismissed Australia for 343 at Lord’s in the last outing, Trent Boult took a hat-trick and 4-51. Kane Williamson scored 40 runs in response but the Black Caps were bowled out for a paltry 143.

New Zealand are odds against at 2.45 but I can’t see them taking an outright win considering their troubles with the bat.
