England vs New Zealand Cricket World Cup - England's power hitters to dominate
Bairstow and Root tipped for runs at Chester le Street
England vs New Zealand Cricket World Cup Preview, Predictions, Betting Tips & Live Stream
England play New Zealand in the 2019 Cricket World Cup at Chester-le-Street in what could turn out to be a winner takes all match. I am tipping the match to have over 8.5 sixes considering England’s power players.
Jonny Bairsow and Joe Root have both been in tremendous form and are backed in the over/under runs scored market.
England Form & Team News
England have gone into knockout mode a bit earlier than they would have wanted but it worked against India. Jonny Bairstow pummelled the Indian bowlers to all corners of Edgbaston on his way to 111 runs. The ever consistent Joe Root contributed with 44 runs and is tipped to score over 42.5 at 1.90.
England hit 13 sixes in their innings of 337 while Liam Plunkett was brilliant with the ball taking 3-55. India managed only 306 in reply, falling 31 runs short.
At the World Cup thus far England own five of the top eight six hitters in the competition. Eoin Morgan leads the list with 22 sixes. I think there is value in the total match sixes market at 1.90 to go over 8.5 sixes.
England are odds on favourites at 1.44 but my focus is on their in-form batsmen. Jonny Bairstow was sublime against India and is backed at 1.90 to go over 40.5 runs. The remarkable consistency Joe Root deserves recognition so I am tipping him to score over 42.5 runs at 1.90.

New Zealand Form & Team News
New Zealand were always going to be tested as the World Cup progressed. The schedule favoured them with the easier matches all came up front but they have faltered badly as the tough opposition have come to town.
The bowling department has operated at a high level but the batting front has been poor. They dismissed Australia for 343 at Lord’s in the last outing, Trent Boult took a hat-trick and 4-51. Kane Williamson scored 40 runs in response but the Black Caps were bowled out for a paltry 143.
New Zealand are odds against at 2.45 but I can’t see them taking an outright win considering their troubles with the bat.
England vs New Zealand Head to Head
England have beaten New Zealand in 7 of their last 12 ODI matches with the last series ending 3-2 in England’s favour.

England vs New Zealand Match Up
England’s aggressive style of cricket has stuttered somewhat during the World Cup but they found their feet against India. Key to England’s cause will be the opening partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy.
New Zealand’s bowling has been superb at the World Cup but the batting of the Black Caps has left much to be desired. Kane Williamson has been their only consistent performer.
