India vs New Zealand Cricket World Cup Preview, Predictions, Betting Tips & Live Stream

India meet New Zealand in the first 2019 Cricket World Cup semi final at Old Trafford with India odds on favourite to make it to the final. My best bet for this match is for World Cup leading run scorer Rohit Sharma to score over 45.5 runs.

Martin Guptill is tipped to fail with the bat once again as New Zealand wave goodbye to the World Cup.

India Form & Team News

India have looked the most complete team at the World Cup with a world class batting and bowling line-up. In their last round robin game they were convincing winners against Sri Lanka at Headingley.

Sri Lanka mustered a total 264 runs with the impressive Jasprit Bumrah taking 3-37. In reply Rohit Sharma scored 103 runs, his third century in three matches and his fifth in eight matches at the World Cup. Opening partner KL Rahul scored 111 as India won by seven wickets.

India are odds on favourite at 1.36 but for value I am looking at the batsman match runs market. I am tipping Rohit Sharma’s incredible World Cup to continue and score over 45.5 runs at 1.90.

New Zealand Form & Team News

New Zealand snuck into the fourth and final playoff position for the World Cup. Their form however going into the semi final is poor having lost their last three matches. Their previous encounter against England at Chester-le-Street was a really poor performance.

The Black Caps bowled well restricting England to 305 runs on a batsman friendly pitch. Unfortunately their batting has failed them consistently all World Cup and did so again.

Martin Guptill who has over the years been New Zealand’s stalwart at the top of the innings but he has failed to score more than 20 runs in his last four innings. Against England he only managed eight runs as New Zealand were dismissed for 186, losing by 119 runs.

New Zealand are valued at 3.20 to cause an unlikely upset but I’m looking at Martin Guptill’s poor form to continue at score under 30.5 runs at 1.90.

India vs New Zealand Head to Head

India have won six of their last seven ODI’s against New Zealand. They were meant to meet at the 2019 Cricket World Cup at Trent Bridge but the game was rained off without a ball being bowled.

India vs New Zealand Match Up

India have the form players at the World Cup and with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in top form the New Zealand bowlers will have their work cut out.

New Zealand are in desperate need for their batsmen to make a mark in this encounter. They have been poor over the majority of the World Cup but India won’t let them off the hook.

Verdict

Rohit Sharma is the World Cup’s leading run scorer and on a run of three 100+ scores in a row, he is tipped to score over 45.5 runs at 1.90.

There is value in backing the struggling Black Caps opener Martin Guptill at 1.90 to score under 30.5 runs for the fifth game running.

Best Bet: Rohit Sharma Over 45.5 Runs @ 1.90 at bet365 – 3 Units
Over/Under Runs Tip: Martin Guptill Under 30.5 Runs @ 1.90 at bet365 – 3 Units
Value Bet: Rohit Sharma to Score 100+ Runs @ 3.75 at bet365 – 1 Unit
