India vs West Indies Cricket World Cup Preview, Predictions, Betting Tips & Live Stream

Old Trafford hosts India and West Indies as the 2019 Cricket World Cup round robin stage nears its end. My best bet is Virat Kohli to score over 50.5 runs as he has in his last two innings.

With the pitch at Old Trafford giving the batsmen joy at the World Cup, I believe there is value in over 558.5 runs and a batsman to score over 103.5 runs at 1.90.

India Form & Team News

India stuttered over the line in their last match against Afghanistan, narrowly avoiding one of the biggest cricket upsets of all time. Virat Kohli (69) and Kedar Jadhav (52) were the only two batsmen to cross the 50 run mark as India finished on 8/224.

Mohammed Shami took 4-40 (including a hat-trick) to save the Indian blushes as Afghanistan fell 11 runs short.

India have an opportunity to confirm at least a top four position against West Indies and are odds on favourites at 1.30. I feel that there is more value in backing Virat Kohli to score over 50.5 for the fourth game running at 1.90.

Old Trafford has witnessed over 558.5 runs in its last two matches so I am tipping a run-feast at 1.90. With runs predicted there is value in a batsman going over the 103.5 run mark considering that there have been two scores of 148 runs in the last two matches at Old Trafford.

West Indies Form & Team News

The West Indies have managed only one victory in their six matches at the World Cup and are already certain of missing out on the playoffs. Their hopes were inches away from being revived against New Zealand but a poor decision by Carlos Brathwaite cost them dearly at Old Trafford.

Sheldon Cottrell continued his incredible World Cup early in the day when he claimed 4-56 as New Zealand limped to 291 runs. In response Chris Gayle (87) and Shimron Hetmyer (54) led the charge but a middle order collapse halted them.

That was until Carlos Brathwaite bludgeoned 101 runs with the tail-end batsmen at the other end doing their best to keep him company. At the end the Windies fell short by an agonising five runs.

On their day the West Indies have the individuals to blow any other side out of the water. That can make them appetising at odds of 3.50 but it’s risky against an unbeaten India side in fine form.

India vs West Indies Head to Head

India have won seven of the last 10 completed ODI’s against the West Indies. There was a no result in the mix while the Windies have managed two victories.

India vs West Indies Match Up

India’s bowling has been tremendous at the World Cup. They will be most pleased because no individual has been relied upon, rather a superb group effort in which each bowler has done his part.

Contrary to India, the West Indies rely heavily on individual brilliance to get them results. Sheldon Cottrell has been brilliant with the ball while their batting effort has not been up to scratch.

Verdict

I am tipping Virat Kohli to go over the 50.5 run mark at 1.90 and any batsman to score more than 103.5 runs in the match at 1.90. I am also backing the match to go over 558.5 runs.
