Kolkata Knight Riders, defending champions of the IPL going into the 2025 season, will face another trial of their dominance and class when they open the new season with a home match against RCB.

Kolkata Knight Riders Schedule
KKR’s opener is also the IPL’s first match as they host Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. KKR will play seven home games at the Eden Gardens and seven other matches on the road.

Ajinkya Rahane (C), Andre Russell, Quinton de Kock, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Spencer Johnson, Varun Chakaravarthy, Venkatesh Iyer, Ramandeep Singh, Anrich Nortje, Harshit Rana, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sunil Narine, Vaibhav Arora, Rinku Singh, Mayank Markande, Rovman Powell, Manish Pandey, Luvnith Sisodia, Anukul Roy, Moeen Ali.
KKR retained the core of their squad from another successful season, including Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Rinku Singh and Andre Russell. In the mega auction, KKR bolstered a strong squad with the addition of Venkatesh Iyer (back into the KKR squad), Quinton de Kock and Moeen Ali.
KKR will be led by Ajinkya Rahane this year, who will make the move from Chennai Super Kings. Venkatesh Iyer has been chosen as the vice-captain of KKR.
Prediction
KKR are one of the better teams in this year’s IPL. If you look at their squad, there is plenty of balance, particularly with their batting.
Even in their bowling, they have two mystery spinners in Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, who will be hard to dislodge off their lengths. That could make KKR playoffs contenders again.
