South Africa Form

Bafana Bafana are in superb form with four wins and a draw in their five COSAFA Cup matches. They are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

They began their COSAFA Cup campaign with 1-0 wins against Botswana and Eswatini before thrashing Lesotho 4-0. Debutant Victor Letsoalo scored a hattrick. With a semi-final place secured, South Africa rested players and drew 0-0 against Zambia in their final group match.

Bafana Bafana beat Mozambique 3-0 in a dominant performance in the semi-final. Njabulo Ngcobo, Yusuf Maart and Victor Letsoalo scored the goals.

Senegal Form

Senegal have won five of their last six matches, including two friendly wins against Zambia and Cape Verde in June. They made a slow start to their COSAFA Cup campaign, losing 2-1 to Namibia in their opening fixture.

Since then, Joseph Kotu’s side have been excellent with three victories. Pape Djitte secured a 1-0 win for Senegal against Mozambique before the Lions of Teranga came from a goal down to beat Zimbabwe 2-1.

In a must-win final group match, Senegal defeated Malawi 2-1. Abu Diop scored a brace which included a 92nd minute winner.

Senegal came through a dramatic semi-final against ten-man Eswatini on penalties after the match ended 2-2. Senegal were 2-0 down after 20 minutes but Pape Djitte pulled one back on 58 minutes and El Hadji Kane leveled matters 10 minutes from the end.
