Brazil have slipped a couple of times early in the WC 2026 qualifiers, but their form improved in late 2024, securing seven points in the last three home outings. I will back them to beat struggling Colombia on Thursday night.

Brazil and their army of fans were surely hoping for more than five victories after 12 rounds in the South American qualifiers, currently occupying 5th place with 18 points (three draws and four defeats).

Selecao looked great in their WC qualifying contests throughout October, securing back to back victories against Chile 2-1 and Peru 4-0, Raphinha and Luiz Henrique scoring two goals each in these encounters.

Dorival Junior’s side has underperformed in November though, their games against Venezuela and Urugay both ending without a winner 1-1.

Colombia Form

Colombia are also in decent position in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers, securing 19 points in 12 rounds and currently sit in 4th place (five wins, four draws and three defeats).

Neymar was called up to the Brazil squad, but suffered an injury in meantime and got replaced by Endrick. Lucas Moura, Oscar, Igor Jesus, Ederson and Lucas Paqueta were not called up, while Bremer, Richarlison, Danilo and Eder Militao are injured.

As for the visitors, Yerson Mosquera, Luis Sinisterra and Roger Martinez are injured, while Mateus Uribe and Yaser Asprilla were not called up. James Rodriguez is the captain with 112 appearances and 29 goals for the national team.
