The Group Three Ormonde Stakes headlines the action at Chester on Thursday. Along with five more races on day two of the May Festival, ITV viewers will pop over to Southwell for an intriguing three-year-old handicap.

Race 1 - CAA Stellar Handicap Tips

Navello E/W1:30pm Chester CAA Stellar Handicap (Class 2) 5fGET 15/2 HERE

The majority of the eight runners can be given chances in this handicap, including course winner NAVELLO, who's dropped down to a dangerous handicap mark of 86.

George Boughey's sprinter bolted up in the Lily Agnes Stakes here as a juvenile and claimed his second victory on the Roodee with a handicap triumph off 89 last June. Boughey has fitted a tongue-tie to Navello after a couple of poor efforts on the all-weather and Chester specialist, Franny Norton comes in for the ride.

Race 2 - Unibet Handicap Tips

YORKSHIRE has taken a step forward with each of his runs so far and Ed Bethwell's three-year-old could be hard to beat off this opening handicap mark of 83.

Callum Rodriguez's mount finished a good third behind 109-rated Charyn on debut at Haydock, before cruising to victory at Redcar in the autumn. Having got outpaced, Yorkshire stayed on to beat Ferrous on his reappearance here at Southwell in March and Bethell's three-year-old looks ready for this step up to seven furlongs.

Race 3 - Deepbridge Capital Handicap Tips

I'd be disappointed if this wasn't won by one of the two handicap debutantes at the head of the betting and I'm narrowly favouring VETIVER over the talented Theoryofeverything, who's been handed a horror draw out in stall nine.

Following a solid second on debut at Chepstow last August, Vetiver bolted up in a maiden over this trip at Beverley in September. Andrew Balding's filly clocked an RPR of 89 during an effortless reappearance back at Beverley last month and Oisin Murphy's mount remains open to plenty of progression off her opening handicap mark.

Race 4 - Dee Stakes Tips

Local Dynasty2:40pm Chester Boodles Dee Stakes (Listed Race) 1m2½fGET 4/1 HERE

O'Brien the elder and O'Brien the younger both have runners in this contest, with recent Cork winner Alder particularly respected. I'm happy to take the Irish on with Charlie Appleby's LOCAL DYNASTY, who's only juvenile defeat came at the hands of 2000 Guineas winner Chaldean when they met at York.

Following that effort, Local Dynasty bolted up under a penalty at Sandown and went on to beat a couple of decent fillies in a Listed contest at Pontefract. This son of Dubawi looks the type that will improve greatly for this step up in distance and Local Dynasty's most impressive performance come on very soft ground at Sandown last September.

Race 6 - TMT Group Handicap Tips

Box To Box E/W3:45pm Chester TMT Group Handicap (Class 3) 1m2½fGET 10/1 HERE

Hugo Palmer will be very disappointed if he didn't saddle at least one winner during this meeting and he looks to have a good chance of doing just that with BOX TO BOX.

James Doyle's mount claimed back-to-back victories on the Roodee last season, with the last of those wins coming off a mark of 85. After three fairly underwhelming runs out in Bahrain, Box To Box returns to Chester on a mark of just 86 and he's more than capable of contending off this reduced rating.

Yorkshire is our top tip out of Thursday's ITV races. Vetiver is our Next Best, followed by Local Dynasty.
