After the turf track at Lingfield was declared unraceable on Wednesday, Saturday's Epsom Trials card has been moved to the Polytrack surface. Along with four races live from Lingfield, ITV viewers will enjoy three strong handicaps from Ascot and the Swinton Handicap Hurdle live from Haydock Park.
Saturday's action at Ascot opens with a wide-open handicap, where the elder statesman in the field, RHYTHMIC INTENT represents value at his current price.
An impressive winner of the Mallard Handicap at Doncaster in 2021, Ian Williams' charge was restricted to just two starts last season. Rhythmic Intent ran poorly on his reappearance over ten furlongs at Pontefract, but bounced back with a fine third over a mile-and-a-half at Newmarket next time out.
Like last season, Danny Tudhope's mount barely featured on his reappearance at Epsom, but Rhythmic Intent will relish this step back up in distance and he's a proven winner on soft ground.
PRENUP returned to action this season with a hard-fought victory over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton, where Marco Ghiani's mount was giving a stone-and-a-half to the runner-up who won next time out. Jane Chapple-Hyam's four-year-old ran very well in defeat over a mile at Chelmsford last month and this slight drop back in trip should see Prenup back to best effect.
Having been beaten in two novice races in the early stages of last season, TIMELESS MELODY went into her reappearance at Leicester on the back of a 371-day absence. William Haggas' recruit was a big drifter on the day, but still managed to run out an impressive winner, sweeping past Mexicali Rose to win going away from the field.
Adam Farragher's mount ran up to an RPR of 88 that day, making this opening handicap mark of 80 seem rather lenient. Timeless Melody seemed to enjoy bottomless ground at Leicester and I expect she'll improve again for this step up to a mile.
William Haggas will saddle the top two in the betting ahead of this Group Three and moving the race from turf to the all-weather certainly favours QUEEN AMINATU over stablemate Sacred.
Haggas' four-year-old has won five of her seven starts on artificial surfaces. Queen Aminatu is two-from-two here at Lingfield, with the second of those victories coming in the Listed Fleur Du Lys Stakes back in October. With Ryan Moore riding Sacred, Haggas has snapped up the services of William Buick to ride his second-string and Queen Aminatu is drawn perfectly in stall three.

Race 5 - Victoria Cup Tips
A low weight and a high draw is a combination that often produces the winner of the Victoria Cup. This year, however, only five of the 23 runners will be carrying less than 9-1 and four of those have landed unfavourably low draws.
I'm going to back a couple at each-way prices, starting with SAFE VOYAGE. John Quinn's stable star may be the oldest horse in the field, but Safe Voyage is a seven furlong specialist who loves bottomless ground. Jason Hart's mount has placed in the Balmoral Handicap and the QEII here at Ascot during his illustrious career and enters this handicap running off a tempting mark of 97.
I've also got my eye on TYLOS, who trounced some decent rivals to make a winning return to the grass at Leicester last month. Archie Watson's four-year-old is up nine pounds for that 11-length victory on heavy ground. Taylor Fisher comes in to take five of those pounds away, though, and Tylos remains fairly unexposed in handicap company on turf.
In what looks like a tricky race, I'm going to put my faith in William Buick and Charlie Appleby and back ETERNAL HOPE.
Appleby's filly had the first two starts of her career on the all-weather in February, finishing third on debut at Wolverhampton before an impressive victory over ten furlongs at Chelmsford. Eternal Hope is by Teofilo out of a Dubawi mare, so there are no doubts about her stamina and the all-weather experience she gathered earlier in the season will certainly help.
Brentford Hope and Byker clearly have an excellent chance. At a much longer price, I'll chance my arm with GET BACK GET BACK, who's enjoyed a brief-but-consistent campaign.
Harry Fry's eight-year-old won well on his first outing at Kempton in November, and went on to finish a decent fourth behind Monviel just nine days later at Ascot. After a winter break, Get Back Get Back was only beaten a short-head at Plumpton by Teddy Blue, who sits a long way ahead of Ben Bromley's mount in the betting. Bromley's claimer leaves Fry's charge carrying just 10-1 and Get Back Get Back looks to have been overlooked in the market.
If Eternal Hope delivers in the Oaks Trial, then Charlie Appleby will fancy his chances of winning both Epsom trials on Saturday, as Military Order dominates this betting heat. On this occasion, I'll take the blue silks of Godolphin on with the progressive CIRCLE OF FIRE.
Having ended his juvenile campaign with an impressive victory at Salisbury, Sir Michael Stoute's star made a good impression when following Castle Way home in the Listed Newmarket Stakes eight days ago. Front-runners can be very hard to peg back on the Rowley Mile and Castle Way was allowed to dictate that race. Ryan Moore kept his mount handy throughout and, although Circle Of Fire couldn't bridge the gap with the winner, Stoute's rising star hit the line strong back in second.
As with most of Sir Michael's three-year-old, Circle Of Fire is likely to have improved for that outing and an eight-day turnaround suggests he's come out of that Listed race well.
